Marjorie

This winter I created an apron line called Marjorie, after my Grandma. She was my inspiration for the aprons. She is such a talented women. She can sew anything! I still have Barbie doll dresses that she made for me. I look at them and go, "how did she sew that little sleeve on!?" I've been meaning to post pictures of my aprons to show my Grandma but as you can tell I'm a little behind. Then recently my Grandma, who is 88 years old, got really sick and had major surgery. Miraculously she is doing well. I was really upset when I heard she was sick because I hadn't shown her my aprons yet. So I can't delay any longer. I'm glad she is doing well and hope that I can master just some of the skills that she has mastered over the years. Love you Grandma!!

Merry Christmas!

Daniel and I made the trek to the midwest to spend Christmas with his family this year. It was a long 18 hour road trip. A highlight of the trip was when we accidently stumbled across one of our favorite BBQ places, Two Dudes BBQ in Missouri. We come across it 2 1/2 years ago on our way from Idaho to Atlanta. It was a Festivus Miracle! Here are some highlights of Christmas Day.

Daniel putting on his new man-apron. I had to be really sneaky when I was making him this since he was out of school and I worked all day.

Here he is outfitted with the man-apron, kitchen utensils, hat and work gloves.

This was a 'sweet' surprise from Mike & London, an amazing box full of treats!

My niece Emery with her new Christmas ornament. My Aunts made us kids ornaments each year until we graduated high school so I'm trying to continue the tradition with my nieces and nephews.

This is becoming a George family tradition to go to King Kong on Christmas while they are giving away free meals.

Daniel with his free Gyro, fries, and orange drink (but you can't see the drink, its in the cup holder)

I had a really great Christmas. This year I tried not to focus on presents and getting my hopes up for things I would like but instead more on service and the true meaning of Christmas. Another thing that has helped is Daniel and I have been reading The New Testament and have almost finished reading the first four gospels. I have really enjoyed reading more about the life of Christ, and give him credit for all the many blessings in my life.

Happy Halloween

Daniel and I got dressed up last night and went trick-or-treating. We didn't get a lot of loot but it was really fun. We went up to one house and there was a little girl helping her mom pass out candy and she said to her mom that there were a lot of adults trick-or-treating and I told her that we weren't adults that we were still kids. I dressed up as a 1950's house wife with apron and all and Daniel was my bread winner husband. My friend invited us back to where she lives and the community had a haunted trail. Daniel got a kick out of this Zombie.

Quarter Century

Today I turned 25. I don't feel any different. My mom said that I'm suppose to be mature now. I'll let you know when that happens. Mawahahaha! Daniel made me key lime cup cakes that are amazing. He surprised me earlier this month with a pair of my favorite Teva flip flops to replace that ones that I lost last summer in lake my parents live on. Today we had me play the hot and cold game to find my other birthday present. But he switched hot and cold on me so cold was actually closer. Anyway we got me a new sewing book that I've wanted. He had hid it in the freezer. What a funny kid. Daniel asked me last night what my top 5 moments were in my first quarter century and they were:
1. Getting married to Daniel of course
2. Riding my motorcycle on a track day at the Mid Ohio Race track
3. Our Italy/Switzerland trip last summer
4. Swimming in our favorite swimming spot in Idaho (random I know but it is just what stuck out to me at that moment)
5. Cosmo!

I have had so many more amazing moments in my life. Those were just the first ones that came to my mind. I feel really grateful for the people in my life and the blessing that I've received. Thank you for all your birthday wishes and yes it was a 'Happy' birthday.

New Apartment!

Daniel and I moved to a new apartment and it is amazing! It consists of the right side of this bungelo. It is just around the corner from our old apartment so it is still in downtown Savannah. In our three years of marriage I feel that we have finally upgraded. Before this ever apartment we moved in to kept getting smaller. The house was built in the late 1800's and was recently renovated. It has two bedrooms, one bath, a big front living area and an amazing kitchen. I feel that being able to live here is a huge blessing in our lives.

Front family/living area before we moved in.

Front family/living area the night we moved in.

Front family/living area a couple days after moving in. We still need to hang up some pictures.

Our awesome bathroom with DOUBLE SINKS!!

This is the second bedroom that Daniel named the Studio.

National Doughnut Day!

Daniel and I celebrated National Doughnut Day today and each got a free doughnut at Krispy Kreme. I figured they would just give us a plain glazed doughnut, but they let us pick any doughnut in the case! My eyes lit up. We both tried out their new lemon doughnut. This might be my new favorite holiday.

Savannah Fashion Show

Some of the local boutiques in Savannah, including the one I work for, got together and put on a fashion show. It was an awesome event. Here is a link to some more pictures of the night.
